Most people
use estate agents to help them buy
or sell homes. They have offices
in the centre of towns and also advertise
in local papers. You tell the estate
agent how much money you have to spend
and the sort of home you’re hoping
to buy and they’ll select places
that match what you want and then take
you to see them. If you find something
you like, they’ll talk to the
person who is selling the home and
help you to buy it. You don’t
have to pay the estate agent anything – the
person selling the home pays their
fees - and you can go to as many different
estate agents as you want.
There are
a few people who don’t
use estate agents to sell their home.
Instead they advertise in local papers
so it’s worth checking the listings
sections of these as well. There are
also lots of Internet sites listing
homes for sale and you can usually
search through them just looking at
the ones that are within your budget
and the area you want to live in.
