Buying a
home – particularly
your first home – can be a terrifying
experience for many of us. It’s
likely to be the biggest purchase you’ll
make in your life and because you’ve
got to live in it and can’t take
it back if you decide you don’t
like it, it’s important to get
it right. To add to the pressure, no
one could ever claim that buying a
home is simple. Ask anyone who’s
been through it and there’s a
big chance that they’ll use words
such as ‘complicated’ and ‘stressful’ to
describe the experience.
That said, about
70% of us in the UK (source: National
Statistics Office)
are homeowners
so there are plenty who have survived
the process. If you’re
thinking about joining them, then why
not have a look at the information
we have here on buying a home?
You may
also find this section useful if
you’ve never thought about
buying a home, perhaps because you
think you can’t afford to or
just because no one you know has ever
owned their own home. Once you’ve
finished this section you’ll
be armed with facts and can make an
informed decision.
