We have made every effort to make this site
as innovative as possible without compromising accessibility.
We have included various aids to assist with accessibility,
some
or all of them may be useful to you. The accessibility options
are all available from the drop down 'Help and Support' menu
at the top of every page.
Below is a brief description of what options
are available:
Illustration zoom If you want to zoom in to any visual
(illustration or interactive element) then
right click the visual and select
'zoom in' from the pop up menu (there are a very small
number which do not have this facility).
You can move the zoomed visual
around
the
viewing
area by dragging it around
with the left mouse button depressed. To turn off zoom
right click the visual again and select 'show
all'.
Text Magnifier - Zoomer
2.0 FREE 3rd party program Magnify the area around your cursor
with Zoomer. Download and launch this utility,
and you'll see a small window where
the area around your mouse cursor is enlarged
two or four times. The Zoomer window can
be moved, resized, or set to occupy the top
1/8th of the screen (like a system toolbar).

Virtual Keyboard -
FREE 3rd party program
Click-N-Type is an on-screen
virtual keyboard designed for anyone with a disability that
prevents
him or
her from
typing
on a physical computer keyboard. As long as the person can
control a mouse, trackball or other pointing device, he or
she can send keystrokes to virtually any Windows application
or DOS application that can run within a window. Click-N-Type
is a 32 bit application that requires Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000/XP
or later. There are other virtual keyboards around but you'll
find Click-N-Type the easiest to use for getting text into
those uncooperative places like browser URL "Address:" fields,
Email "To:" addresses, Email "Subject:" fields,
dialog boxes like "Open" and "Save As...",
and many other problematic applications.

Virtual Mouse - FREE
3rd party program
For anyone who has difficulty with mouse clicking, Point-N-Click
is the ideal solution. It was designed to complement Click-N-Type,
but functions excellently on its own

Screen Readers We have ensured, wherever possible, that the
visual aspects of the site are tagged with text descriptions.
This
should
make
the
site more useful for those using a 'screen reader'. However,
many of the page illustrations and interactive elements are
produced in Flash which cannot have text tags added due to
technology limitations in browsers.
Tip: To see
a whole range of accessability utilities including screen readers,
all in one
place, many of them free, click
here. There are magnifiers, screen readers, mouse enhancers,
virtual keyboards, braille utilities and many more.
Large text version - Click
here to go there now This version of the site takes all of the text and presents
it in a large print, easy read version. Please remember that due
to the very interactive and dynamic nature of the site that some
visual elements will be unavailable in the large text version although
we have included all pertinent interactive visuals and sized them
up for easier reading.
Basic skills downloadable version - coming
soon This will be an alternative
of the downloadable modules of
the site tailored to those with
basic
skills needs.
