We have always planned to continually improve and expand this resource. Below are some examples of updates that we have recently added to the site.

  • Junior Football Manager Game - (15/05/08)
    The skills you use to manage your family’s finances can be useful elsewhere as well. Lots of parents play an important part in running their kids’ junior football clubs and this can require a cool financial head! Have a go with our game that puts you in charge of the finances of a junior football team and discover the impact your financial decisions can have.
  • Money Matters to Me Printed Guide Book - (15/05/08)
    Published in May 2008, the Money Matter to Me Guide Book is now available to help you get the most from the online resource. This printed guide is also a great stand alone resource in its own right. Includes the 2008 edition of "Interactive Resource Kit" on CD-ROM with Junior Football Manager game, find out more and buy online.

    As a tutor, if you want to use Money Matters to Me in a location where you don't have an Internet connection, you will be pleased to find out that you can now request the "Interactive Resource Kit" on CD-ROM.
  • Interactive Shopping Simulator - (06/12/05)
    This new section has lots of information about online shopping via the Internet. It also features an online shopping simulator complete with shop, checkout and even a confirmation email.
  • Growing Older - (14/07/05)
    This new section, which can be found in the 'Implications of finance' section, helps you think about your longer term future , for example, retirement.
  • Budget Updates for 2005 Budget.
    All site content has new site pages to reflect changes made in the recent budget.
  • Numeracy Mapping - (21/04/05)
    This new section, which can be found in the Tutor's section, helps numeracy tutors to identify which of the sections of Money Matters to Me could be useful and at what level.
  • Interactive Workshops - (21/04/05)
    There are new interactive activities relating to numeracy, these can be found in the Interactive workshops section. The following activities are covered: Calculating petrol costs in 'taking a road trip', calculating the amount of laminate flooring or rolls of wallpaper in 'DIY', converting pounds to euros in our 'euro converter' and once you've done all that hard work relax with a drink at our 'drinks machine simulator'.
  • Your Credit History - (08/02/05)
    This new section, which can be found under Money Matters - Implications of finance, deals with your credit history and your credit reference file - how to get yours and how to make sense of it.
  • Child Trust Fund - (08/02/05)
    This new section, which can be found under Money Matters - Where money comes from, deals with the introduction of the new Child Trust Fund, an amount of money now paid to parents for all new born babies.
  • Insurance - (18/11/04)
    This new section, which can be found under Money Matters - Risk and return, deals with all aspects of insurance from home insurance to medical insurance.
  • Social Housing - (01/08/04)
    This new section, which can be found under Money Matters - Where money comes from, deals with all aspects of social housing including council and association housing.
  • Benefits - Direct Payments and Post Office Collection - (01/08/04)
    This new section, which can be found under Money Matters - Where money comes from - Benefits, covers direct payments and Post Office Benefits collection via cash card account with a simulator for the new keypad verification system.
  • March 2004 Budget Updates - (13/04/04)
    The March 2004 budget made some changes to various elements within the Money Matters to Me resource. These are now available throughout the site.
  • Online Guide For Tutors and Practitioners - (30/03/04)
    A new integrated, comprehensive guide which shows tutors and practitioners in Financial Literacy, Numeracy and ICT how to get the best from this resource.

    We have just launched a new forum which combines the best of the original simple forum and the Financial Literacy Tutors Network.
